The original Epidermal Electronic was from John Roger's Group. They created a device that is an array dot structure placed on the subject's neck. The device could deform on the neck and change the array generating a different signal. They tracked the signals that different voice commands made and developed a minigame to be controlled by their device. More information can be found here.

Their device is manufactured in a chemical process called photolithography. It is a water-based and time consuming process and not to mention costly. We can see a summary of all the complicated steps but a more detailed description is here.
